SETTING UP WINDOWS 95

This document describes how to setup your computer
to connect to Internetthrough Al Jazirah Internet Services (Suhuf)
A. Setup The TCP/IP Protocol
1.   Choose Start button-->Settings-->Control Panel.
2.   Double click the Network icon. In the dialogbox, there should be a Client for Microsoft
      Networks, Dial-Up Adapter andTCP/IP protocol installed. If not, please install as below:-
    a. To Install Dial-up Adapter:       - Click on Add       - Select Adapter       - Click on Add       - Under Manufactures, select Microsoft       - Under Network Adapters, select Dial-up Adapter       - Then click OK    b. To Install TCP/IP:       - Click on Add       - Select Protocol       - Click on Add       - Under Manufactures, select Microsoft       - Under Network Protocols, select TCP/IP       - Then Click OK

3.   Click OK button in this window and in the network window.
4.   If the window asks you to restart the computer, selectYes.
Note: Once you have all the networks protocols installed, click on---- the OK button. The computer will ask you to restart the      computer. If it doesn't ask you to restart, do it anyway.
B. Setup the Dial-up Networking
1.   Choose Start button-->Programs-->Accessories-->Dial-upNetworking.

         If you are not able to see Dialup Networking in Accessories you have to install Dialup Networking.
Installing Dialup Netwoking
1.   Choose Start button-->Settings-->Control Panel.
2.   Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3.   Click the Windows Setup tab from the dialog box.
4.   Double click Communicationsfrom the components list.
5.   Select Dial-Up Networkingfrom the components list.
6.   Click Ok.
7.   Click Ok Again.
8.   Insert Windows CD ROM if the computer asks.
8.   Click Yes if the computer asks for restarting..

2.   Double click the Make New Connection icon.
3.   Type the name for the computer you are dialing as Al Jazirah Internet.
4.   Select the type of your modem and click Nextafter you have selected.
5.   Fill in the area code eg. 1 for Riyadh, the Al Jazirah Internet phone number inside
      telephone number ie. 3602222,and selectthe country codeas Saudi Arabia (966). Click
      Next and Finish button tosetup Al Jazirah Internet connection icon
6.   Highlight the Al Jazirah Internet icon you just created, clickat File-->Properties.
7.   Select the Server Type button in the window.
      Under Advanced options, selectonly Enable software compression
      Under Allowed network protocols,select only TCP/IP
      Goto TCP/IP Settings,
      Select Server assigned IP address
      Select Specify name server addresses and key in as below primary and secondary DNS
      column
       - primary   DNS   213.136.192.2
       - secondary DNS  213.136.192.3
8. Click OK and Choose the OK button again to exitthe setup
C. How to get into Al Jazirah Internet by dialing?
1. Double click the Al Jazirah Internet icon you just created, make sure thatthe Al Jazirah
    Internet phone number is in phone number
2. Select Connect button to dial to Al Jazirah Internet.
3. Type your username with '@suhuf.net.sa' (Example 'hamad1@suhuf.net.sa') and password in
    the Username and password boxes.
4. After clicking 'Connect' it should verify your username and password.
5. Now that you are connected to Al Jazirah Internet, you should be able to use
    your e-mail or web browser software.
6. Use the HTTP proxy for browsing the internet through browser
Proxy server name: proxy.suhuf.net.sa Port: 8080

7. Configuring proxy server
      In Netscape Communicator 4.x -
      Click Edit-->Preferences-->Advanced-->Proxies-->Manual Proxy Configuration-->View....
      In Netscape Navigator 3.x -
      Click Options-->Network Preferences-->Proxies-->Manual Proxy Configuration-->View....
      Internet Explorer 5.0 -
      Click Tools-->Internet Options-->Connections-->Lan Settings-->Use Proxy Server.
      Internet Explorer 4.x -
      Click View-->Internet Options-->Connection-->Access the internet using
      proxy server-->Advanced.
      Internet Explorer 3.x -
      Click View-->Options-->Connection-->Connect through Proxy Server-->Settings.
